WPF 4.0 MVVM/Prism 4.0/ MEF Telerik Ribbon Application Template

Update: 3/1/11 - Today I found that the SharedAssemblies folder doesn't contain the Telerik.Windows.DLL. Also, the App.Config was missing an appSetting called DisplayExceptionsToClient as well as a Silverlight condition to display the ErrorWindow on exceptions.

I add the Telerik.Windows.Data.dll and also fixed the other code.

Thank you for visiting our community. I put together this WPF template in hopes to help others to get started with MVVM & WPF. I'm in hopes others will download this template and then share their own ideas so hopefully a discussion gets started. A great goal would be to improve the capabilities of the template over time.

I've taken the code from a Silverlight version of this template and modified it to create a WPF version. Ideally for some, these would be combined into a single template but for others it's not.

So with both, I'll let the user decide if they won't to combine both into a Multi-target solution.

I'm not going into full details of this solution as you can follow the Silverlight version. The concepts are pretty much the same.

The following is a brief highlight of the differences.

• The BootStrapper was updated adjust for the differences in WPF
• The QATBRegionAdapter in the NST.WPF.Common was adjusted to work with WPF.
• The ErrorWindow used for exception handling may not meet your needs. It is displayed in the ShellController class if DisplayExceptionsToClient is set to true.

Other than that, to make your way through the app, start with App.xaml.cs, BootStrapper, ShellController, Module1Module.cs and then Module1Controller.cs. When you get an understanding of MVVM, following through the files above, you should have a good understanding of the architecture.
